Invest 5 hours of your time at tech camp and we will turn you into a Rockstar Teacher!

CUE Rock Star Express Paso Robles
Estrella Warbird Museum
Friday evening, April 26th
Saturday morning, April 27th

Presenters are dynamite speakers and incredible resources for all things geeky. They are Google Certified Teachers and Trainers, Apple Distinguished Educators, YouTube Star Teachers, and subject matter experts in blogging, social media, web tools, e-learning, edgaming, and instructional design. They are VERY willing to share their knowledge and resources in a low pressure, social, and highly charged learning environment.

The camp runs from 5-8 on Friday night and from 9 am to noon on Saturday. Refreshments are included!

Friday

Refreshments and appetizers followed by introductions and four keynotes that build on the theme: We did stuff you aren’t supposed to and LIVED!

Classroom 3.0 – Time for an upgrade
Tweet your way to good mental health
Why you need to promote yourself online

Saturday

Begins with a shred session where each presenter has 2 minutes to try to convince you to come to their session.

Continues with one, two-hour hands-on session where you will make and take something with you that DIRECTLY addresses CCSS.

Choose from:

Google Tools – Leveraging the Power of Free to Meet CCSS. Students can create and collaborate with free Google tools. No more lost documents, true collaboration occurs, going paperless – winning!

Twitter for Educators – Make an account, join folks and follow/create hashtags AND guaranteed hotshot teachers to follow!

Publishing Student Content for a Global Audience – Learn how to leverage free tools you already have access to to publish and promote student work for a global audience. I’ll share how my student and class blogs have attracted over 100,000 visitors and you’ll create a friendly, useful, and utterly amazing space to share creative student work.

Web 2.0 Tools – What are they and how do I use them in my classroom. There are a host of Web 2.0 tools out there. Incorporating them into your daily routine is quick and easy. Many of these tools can be used by your students, meeting those ‘Create’ and ‘Publish’ requirements set by CCSS.

Low Tech, No Tech, Locked Down Tech, No Problem – Discover new ways to integrate edtech into your low tech classroom and how to design your way around roadblocks.

The morning ends with a Google Demo Slam where each presenter has 5 minutes to share a fabulous and little known awesome Google tool that will blow your mind, including:

Stopping Plagiarism with GDOCS
Google Forms
Google Voice
Google Art Project
Google Street View
Google Research Tool
Google Search Secrets
Google Search Stories

All of this is for the low cost of $59 for CUE members. If you are not a CUE member, the price is $99 which includes a CUE membership.

With the CUE membership you will receive a MEGA discount (practically FREE!) for the all-day SLOCUE Connects Conference at New Tech High School in Nipomo on Saturday, October 5th. You will also receive the CUE journal quarterly, loaded with best practices in edtec and discounts for both the Fall CUE Conference in Napa and the Annual Conference in Palm Springs.

Common Core is here. Our students are expected to publish original and creative work on the Internet and reflect on their learning in multiple ways. Are you ready to teach them how?
