The Central Coast STEM Collaborative (CCSTEM), will continue its ongoing informal, educational lecture series “Science After Dark” with a lecture at 6:30pm, February 17, 2016 at Luis Wine Bar in San Luis Obispo. The series is scheduled for the second Wednesday of every month through June, 2016. Also titled, “The Science and Romance of Diamonds”.
What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day (post holiday that is) than with a elebration of diamonds, featuring gemologist Jamie Foster. Ask any bride, well, practically any bride, the wedding story better begin with something that actually comes from a great deal of heat and pressure – a diamond – just like a long-lasting marriage. Let’s go to great depths to find out where diamonds come from, open our eyes to all the colors of the rainbow, look up to out-of-this-world diamond beauties. We’ll include a dash of history and lore. It will be an ode to diamonds and all things pure, pure science that is. You’ll have to provide the romance on your own time.
