To the left of the switch stand is a tool stand with a metal bristle broom. Stands like these held brooms, shovels, and the like to keep switches operable. At right is a signpost with three sets of double circles. The white circles on a black background (CN) or black circles on a white background (CP) are warning for the snowplow/flanger crew to lift their blades because of an obstruction (between the gauge) like a level crossing or a switch [thanks to G.G. on TrainOrders.com for this info].
