Christmas in Sedona, Arizona

A couple views from the tourist shop area (north end of town along 89A).

In the fudge shop.

We had a fabulous dinner at Dahl & DiLucas. For a linen tablecloth place, they were unbelievably family friendly. No kids menu, but they'll make most any kind of light-sauce pasta AND all menu items are available to kids as a half order. They also have another location on the other side of town, Cucina Rustica.

The Barking Frog turned out to be another excellent kid-friendly higher-end restaurant. The guacamole made tableside is excellent, and all entrees were delicious. Don't miss the sweet potato-stuffed pablano pepper.

We can also attest to Rene at Tlaquepaque. Very good food, nice wine list. We did not test the kid-friendliness of this restaurant.

Sedona does have a micro-brew: Oak Creek Brewing Company. The brewery is near (behind) the Basha's center where they do have a bar and outdoor/firepit area. They also have a restaurant at Tlaquepaque where the food is pretty good and you can sample all seven brews for $10. You should try the fried pickle appetizer. Kids were welcome at the restaurant.

December 28:

The Wildflower Bread Company at Pinon Pointe (89A and 179) became our favorite breakfast spot.

The view behind the Chapel of the Holy Cross.

Those are real apples in the decorations. The visiting squirrel is all too real as well.

Goodbye Mr. Squirrel!

December 29 in Jerome, AZ.

Jerome is an old copper mining town, now a "ghost town", with galleries and shops:

The sliding jail.

This building was constructed largely of old dynamite boxes.
