Here's a picture of the assembled structure without the curtains. Each corner is labeled, and correspond to similar markings on the pipes. The larger version (505kb) will print on 8.5x11 paper.

If you'd like to build yourself a puppet stage, here are some instructions. This is for hand-puppets that wear size 2T (such as those offered by Puppet Productions). This is a stage that Puppet Productions used to offer. They have newer styles now.

Parts list (.xls, 17kb). All is schedule 40 PVC pipe, 1.5".


The larger version (398kb) will print on 8.5x11 paper landscape.

We chose to permanently glue the elbows and Ts onto one of the pipes which they connect. It's a good idea to set the stage up entirely before gluing anything to make sure it all fits OK.

To label the ends of the pipes, we printed out large letters and attached them underneath a strip of clear tape that wraps all the way around the pipe.

These are not "tested" instructions. Please be careful and aware as you proceed.

Note the two small holes in the slightly separated pipes. These were added so that small pins (nails with the sharp end rounded off) could be put in to keep the pieces from coming apart when in use. This was done in a number of strategic locations.
