PDF booklet version
One day Serafina and Sam were sitting on their small train wishing it would go faster.
Suddenly the train did go faster and faster and faster! Serafina screamed. Sam yelled, "Stop train, stop, we’ll do anything for you! Slow down." The train did not slow down; instead it grew wings and flew off the track. It flew miles and miles into the sky. It went through the clouds, past the sun, and into space. Serafina held on to Sam. Sam laughed happily and told Serafina, "it's okay." A horse flew by and asked to join them. They said, "Yes," and gave him a star cookie to eat.
They flew all the way around the world, and then the little train said, "I am tired, we must go home now." Sam and Serafina kissed the horse goodbye and gave him a basket of star cookies.
They flew back to Nipomo and landed safely on the track. Nana Lynn came outside to call Sam and Serafina in for dinner. "My goodness," she said, "how did you get stardust all over yourselves?" Serafina, Sam, and the little train just smiled.
