Chancel Choir 2006 England Tour
Friday, July 28, 2006
Today was our 3rd concert at the Bath Abbey. We went
through our entire repertoire of 15 songs. And the echo
experienced after cutting our notes was once again incredible. Also in
Bath, we took the time to visit the Roman Baths. They exist there because
of a natural mineral spring that still today is producing hot (115 degree-F)
water with 43 separate minerals. After a little shopping in the Bath area,
we headed out to the Cotswold area were we visited a smaller church and sang
"Go now in Peace" and "Hymn #904" both to test out the acoustics and in honor of
Bill Noll (a devoted choir member who recently passed away).
Also, as a special treat, we had the opportunity to visit a
private garden of a women who had put together a memorial honoring the Americans
who died on September 11th, 2001; and we were the first Americans to ever visit
there. The garden and house were a site to behold.
