September 5, 2010 Union Pacific Railroad's "Dennis Duffy Special" at SLO on the ocassion of his retirement as UP's Vice Chairman of Operations. Serafina took a couple of these shots! Thanks to Rob at the SMVRR for the heads up. Serafina wanted me to take this picture of flowers in the fence atop the walking bridge that crosses the tracks at the SLO station. The San Luis Obispo (SLO) train station from the walking bridge, looking north. "The train's coming!..." The 12-car special arrived from the south with UP #2010, the BSA loco, on the lead. Note the step-down windows on the rear theatre car. Theatre-style seating looking out the back picture window! Second from left, Dennis Duffy detrains to shake some hands. My favorite Serafina shot. She got the timestamp and everything. The Surfliner pulled in right behind the departing special. There's the theatre car, reflecting the walking bridge now well behind the train.
