Berry-Berry travels through the Panama Canal. This canal connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. It is located at a point where the distance across land is short.


He's ready to go, passport and all!

Berry-Berry's ship is just entering the Panama Canal. There are several cargo freighters ahead of his ship.




At the right edge of this picture is Berry-Berry's ship, with the orange lifeboats. See some of the ship's passengers hanging out their windows to watch.


This is the view looking to the rear of Berry-Berry's ship. Note that the freighter is much lower than Berry-Berry's ship. The canal works by raising boats up and down in sections called locks. The Panama Canal Railway Company runs alongside the canal.


Tugboats help the big ships maneuver.
