Alvin All-Star Railroad (AASRR)

Logo Design and Patch

In September of 2001, the class was asked to draw their ideas for a class project railroad patch. The selected design was "cleaned up" a bit and patches were produced. The original artwork is pictured at left, and the final patches are pictured at right.

Several of the classmembers used the correct Santa Maria Valley Railroad colors (yellow with green lettering/striping) without any prompting. The train runs right down one of the streets in central Santa Maria, so many of the children were quite familiar with it. See "A Morning on the Santa Maria Valley Railroad".

If you intend to produce patches, allow 8-12 weeks for production. We used the good folks at Bay Imprint to produce our 3" embroidered patches. They came in under $2 apiece in a quantity of 100.
