Alvin All-Star Railroad (AASRR)

Train Layout (HO) - 3/22/02

Today we worked on the enginehouse and the final patches of ground texturing.

First, at left, is a pair of youngsters working on the enginehouse windows. They are cutting short strips of balsa wood and gluing them to the frame. These will become the window frames of the finished product.

Next to them at the same table two more youngsters are painting the roof pieces white. In the foreground of this picture you can see some of the railroad realia in the classroom, complete with labels.

And below, one student is carefully removing all the blue masking tape that had been protecting the switches, toggles, and ground throws throughout the process. Then he'll go back and patch the bare wood that was exposed in this process. Since he'll have no protection for the moving parts, he'll have to be very carefull!
