Published on August 23, 2013, by

The Cassini team has announced the topics of the 2013 Cassini Scientist for a Day essay contest. This year’s topics are Saturn and two of its fascinating moons, Iapetus and Dione. Study these targets and pick the one that you think will return the best science. The Cassini spacecraft orbiting Saturn will be taking images of all three targets.

The contest is open to students in grades 5-12. You can work alone or in a team of up to four students. Learn about these targets and then pick the one you want to write about in an essay no longer than 500 words. The contest deadline is Friday, Oct. 25, 2013. There will be a winner for each topic in each age category (grade 5-6, 7-8, and 9-12).
