“For the second year, seek PG&E will award up to $1 million in Bright Minds scholarships to help high school, community college and “non-traditional” students achieve their higher education goals. Winners will receive full-ride scholarships of up $30,000 per year. Program finalists will receive $2,500 awards for college. The Bright Minds scholarships are awarded based on a combined demonstration of community leadership, personal triumph, financial need and academic achievement. Eligible applicants must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program at an accredited two or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school for the duration of the 2013-2014 school year. This year, engineering majors will be given preference, although the selection committee will not exclude other majors from the process. Deadline to apply for the PG&E Bright Minds scholarship is Feb. 28, 2013. Scholarship winners will be announced this spring.”
