March 12, 2014 A Day in the Life of a Rattlesnake The Central Coast STEM Collaborative (CCSTEM.org) in conjunction with the SLO Children's Museum put on a Science After Dark program about snakes. Right up Matteo's alley! There was a brief slideshow presentation about rattlesnakes, and then the kids got to go around the museum and visit six different snakes, up close and as personal as they wanted. Even a rattlesnake! Each participant got a "passport" to have stamped at each snake "station". A completed passport could be turned in at the end for a free pass to come back to the SLO Children's Museum. Python That's a rattler. Note the business half of the snake is in a clear plastic tube. Very clever way to keep everyone safe. That rattle was going a mile a minute. Jamie Foster Photography |
